You might feel anxious in a social setting, you might feel anxious at work, you might feel anxious because of some news you just heard of .... If you struggle with severe anxiety please reach out to a professional. There is lots of great help out there.

Today I want to address the little anxious feelings and anxieties that we all go through at times and provide you with a couple tools that can help you to feel more comfortable again.

  1. how did you sleep in recent days/ weeks
  2. check if you are meeting your physical needs
  3. what has triggered your mind and how can you get out of worst case scenario thinking loop.

This is a place where you can recharge your batteries, reconnect to yourself,

really get to know yourself and find out what steps you can take to untangle

yourself from a situation you don’t wish to be in. I invite you to get to know yourself better in order for you to make the right choices for yourself in the future.

Hello, Hello and welcome to the Borealis

Unknown:

experience. I'm your host, Aurora, lash coach and companion

Unknown:

on this beautiful journey called life. Thank you so much for

Unknown:

being here. Thank you so much for spending some time with me

Unknown:

today for putting some time aside for yourself to reflect

Unknown:

about your self, your behaviors, your decisions. My slogan, maybe

Unknown:

you know it already, maybe you're new to the show is the

Unknown:

better you know yourself, the better decisions you're gonna

Unknown:

make and the more fulfilled and content you're going to be in

Unknown:

your life, the stronger your relationships will be. And who

Unknown:

does not want that. Unfortunately, we're not born

Unknown:

with a manual. So when we grow up, parents do their best to

Unknown:

their abilities. And when we are adults, yeah, we also follow,

Unknown:

believes, and believe and things that we think are right. But

Unknown:

sometimes they're not really in alignment with our true self.

Unknown:

And when we engage on these paths that are not into

Unknown:

alignment with ourselves, we can feel confused, lost stuck, we

Unknown:

can become sick, even not only in the mind, but in the body. So

Unknown:

what I'm trying to do here is to reconnect you to yourself,

Unknown:

remind you of who you are, and provide you with tools that I

Unknown:

was given. When I felt lost and disconnected and stuck. So I

Unknown:

want to make your life easy. Make you live to see and I want

Unknown:

you to live your true purpose. Today I want to talk about

Unknown:

anxiety and how to be less anxious. Why do I feel I can

Unknown:

talk about anxiety? Because? Well, you guessed it, right. I'm

Unknown:

struggling with anxiety. And I think we all do. To some degree,

Unknown:

I'm not a special case, I'm not unique. We all have anxiety. At

Unknown:

some point in our lives. Sometimes it is anxiety that

Unknown:

comes up in social settings. Sometimes we feel anxious

Unknown:

because we're just yeah, not liking our situation. Sometimes

Unknown:

we're anxious because something happened in our life that

Unknown:

overwhelms us. So I have felt called to talk about it today.

Unknown:

And I'm hoping that I can make you feel less alone and even

Unknown:

give you tools that can make you feel better when you feel

Unknown:

anxious. You might not hear it in my voice right now. But I'm

Unknown:

having an extremely anxious day today. Something happened in my

Unknown:

life. And yeah, I can share with you what it is because I want to

Unknown:

protect the members of my community. And it also doesn't

Unknown:

really matter once anxiety is there. Your mind is in the

Unknown:

future and is concerned with what is. And that is not an

Unknown:

awesome state to be in for too long. You can feel it in your

Unknown:

body, you're tensed. Maybe your eye movement is faster than

Unknown:

usual. Your breath might be short and shallow. You might be

Unknown:

short with the people around you. Impatient, angry. Yeah,

Unknown:

anxiety can really show up in very different ways. There's

Unknown:

some people who are totally shutting down when they're

Unknown:

anxious. They're like, paralyzed. They are numb, they

Unknown:

can move to a certain degree. They're losing flexibility, they

Unknown:

feel discomfort all over their body. So it is really different

Unknown:

how everybody experience anxiety and I want to make you aware

Unknown:

that I'm not a doctor, I'm not a counselor. So if you struggle

Unknown:

with deep anxiety, I encourage you to reach out to a

Unknown:

professional and to ask for help because there's really good

Unknown:

doctors out there who can help you out What I'm helping with is

Unknown:

the mild anxieties that we

Unknown:

struggle with on a daily basis, but that are not, you know,

Unknown:

we're not causing harm to ourselves or to others, we're

Unknown:

still functioning. But we feel uncomfortable in our skin. So

Unknown:

what I did today is that I first checked in with my body. Am I

Unknown:

sleeping? Well, in the last recent days, sleep, as you might

Unknown:

know, for me already is always the first thing I address with

Unknown:

my personal trainer, clients and my coaching clients because it

Unknown:

deeply affects your mental and physical state. So I was very

Unknown:

confident in answering this question with a firm. No, I

Unknown:

haven't been sleeping well, these last couple of days.

Unknown:

Alright, let's move on to the next. Have I been eating

Unknown:

properly today? Yes, I did. I had wonderful breakfast, and now

Unknown:

I had a great lunch. We move forward to water intake tech. Am

Unknown:

I dehydrated or well hydrated. If your body is dehydrated, it

Unknown:

can signal you thirst by becoming anxious by becoming

Unknown:

nervous. Also, headaches can come up. And other symptoms.

Unknown:

Alright, I drank enough water. What else is going on? Did I

Unknown:

exercise today? Yes, I followed my daily yoga routine. And I

Unknown:

felt really good doing it. Did something else happen today?

Unknown:

Yes, I got news that were certainly not pleasant. So here

Unknown:

we go. It was a trigger from the outside. It is thoughts that

Unknown:

this trigger avalanched out of my mind, my brain. And my monkey

Unknown:

mind is running free with these sorts of feeling unsafe,

Unknown:

feeling? Uncertainty, feeling anxious, and what if scenarios,

Unknown:

if not worst case scenarios. All right, so we're getting a little

Unknown:

bit closer here. It is my mind that is just running wild. And

Unknown:

then I tried to rein it back in. I was trying to relative aid. I

Unknown:

don't know if you say that in English and German you say

Unknown:

relative aid the situation. So basically, I was trying to boil

Unknown:

the situation down to what it comes down to. I'm still not

Unknown:

going to disclose what the news were, but we're going to work

Unknown:

with this. Next, I was inviting myself to go for a walk. I know

Unknown:

that going for a walk out in nature with my dogs always

Unknown:

brings me back to my center. So I engaged in that walk. And

Unknown:

after that walk, I could feel a drastic change already. I was

Unknown:

not totally able to rein in my mind. Completely, but just my

Unknown:

body. Walking in a calm space being surrounded by green, lush

Unknown:

leaves and grass and having my dogs close by and watching my

Unknown:

dogs enjoying themselves gave me enormous peace already. The next

Unknown:

thing I've done and this is called future pacing is that am

Unknown:

I imagined myself tonight, talking to my boyfriend in front

Unknown:

of a fireplace, about his day and deeply listening to him. We

Unknown:

have little ritual that when we come home, we have some time for

Unknown:

ourselves beard shower, not sometimes we don't have time for

Unknown:

ourselves and we we talk right away about how our day was and

Unknown:

share all the dirty details with each other and this is just

Unknown:

extremely beautiful because even though you are apart.

Unknown:

At the end of the day, you feel like you were with the other

Unknown:

person and they bring a certain energy back home and share it

Unknown:

with you and you do the same with them. It is extremely

Unknown:

common for me. Now if you don't have a partner, if you live by

Unknown:

yourself, then I invite you to imagine a super peaceful

Unknown:

situation that you want to see yourself and in a couple hours

Unknown:

down the road. Maybe you want to watch your favorite movie, and

Unknown:

you really really open up your heart and let all this good

Unknown:

energy flow into you and flush out your discomfort and anxiety.

Unknown:

Maybe you want to prepare a super meal for yourself. And you

Unknown:

want to make it really fancy and kind of celebrate yourself.

Unknown:

Maybe you want to call a friend, you want to connect with a loved

Unknown:

one and hear them out hear about their day here, but the last

Unknown:

couple of weeks. So again, listening to a person and to

Unknown:

their experience of life, zooming out of your experience,

Unknown:

of course, without making it, you know, trying to overly

Unknown:

distract from yourself, but to open up to another person and

Unknown:

hear them out can be super relaxing, and soothing. All

Unknown:

right, I'm going to repeat once again, my little tools that I

Unknown:

use first, I check in with my body, am I giving my body

Unknown:

everything that it needs? Second, I tried to be a little

Unknown:

detective and find out when did my anxiety kick start? What was

Unknown:

the trigger? I go back to that point, and then decide, okay,

Unknown:

what am I going to do with myself now I want to engage in

Unknown:

activities that make me feel good. In order to do that, you

Unknown:

have to know yourself, you have to become a master and knowing

Unknown:

what makes you feel great. And you can go back in time. And go

Unknown:

through all the little activities that really make you

Unknown:

feel genuinely great and that are good habits to engage in and

Unknown:

Mike case it was going for a walk. In my case, it is going to

Unknown:

be that I'm going to zoom myself into the future and picture a

Unknown:

peaceful evening where I know I will be safe. I will be able to

Unknown:

listen to my partner and my partner will hear me out if you

Unknown:

don't have a partner again. Find something that brings you joy,

Unknown:

get a movie, be at cooking for yourself being connecting with a

Unknown:

friend over the phone. All right. The last thing I want to

Unknown:

encourage you to do if, like me, you haven't been sleeping well.

Unknown:

In the last couple of days before becoming anxious, I

Unknown:

encourage you to have a nap. And sometimes that's odd, because

Unknown:

you haven't practice having a nap. Maybe. Yeah, you're not

Unknown:

tired right now because you're anxious. But just lay down in a

Unknown:

safe place on the floor on a couch in your bed. Put something

Unknown:

on top of your eyes and see what happens. Sometimes, this can

Unknown:

help you to fall asleep and a couple moments time. And

Unknown:

sometimes your mind is just too racy, and you don't want to do

Unknown:

it. But I encourage you to try it out. Because napping just 20

Unknown:

minutes a day can really work wonders is way better than

Unknown:

having a coffee in the afternoon because that can also affect

Unknown:

your sleep at night. So try napping if napping is not an

Unknown:

option. Try to go for a walk. The gentle smooth movement of

Unknown:

your body in turn can affect your mind that is racing an

Unknown:

anxious in a very good and soothing way. All right. I'm

Unknown:

gonna leave you with this. If you enjoyed this episode, please

Unknown:

don't hesitate to share with loved ones, if you want to help

Unknown:

them out in the future.

Unknown:

Unknown:

Unknown:

Unknown:

Unknown:

A little bit about me
Trust me I’m far from feeling, behaving or being perfect.
Perfection is nothing I’m thriving for yet I can say I’m proud of my path/ life journey.

I'm no longer enslaved to my #depression
I'm no longer a #rapevictim
I no longer struggle with #eatingdisorder
I no longer feel the need to hold on to fear, anger and resentment towards men.
I #create podcast episodes and videos several times a week to support and inspire others even on days I feel poorly.
I push through hard times while being gentle on myself.

I'm able to be consistent without feeling drained for the first time in my life because I found something that brings me joy and excitement and stills my hunger to support people out there.

I try my best to understand people’s harsh opinions that are not in alignment with my values .

I learn every day on how to express myself better in a foreign language

I no longer use being bullied back then in school as an excuse in life to not show up for myself or others.

I ask questions, really annoying questions, in order to experience my environment and to find out what is best for me and my people around me ..
Yes, I still feel triggered in many situations.
Yes, I feel depressed and discouraged at times but I embrace it and don’t let it define me anymore.

Doing all this allows me to meet incredible people along the way.

People who:
- inspire me
- encourage me and ignite my deep compassion

About your host

Profile picture for Aurora Eggert

Aurora Eggert

Hello there,
Born and raised in Germany under the influence of French culture I got a taste of how people perceive life and situations totally differently depending on how and where they grew up. this ignited my deepest curiosity for human behaviour at a very young age.

Being always more of an introvert and observant child I absorbed a lot of stuff that to this day weigh heavy on my soul but on the bright side I can say that these experiences make me relate so much deeper and better to the people around me.

I understand pain. I know suffering. I know how it feels to feel misunderstood.
People say I have a warm, soothing vibe and I enjoyed many years working as a physiotherapist in Germany.

Today I’m more venturing towards bringing healing through podcasting/ Life coaching and yoga. I also encourage people to spend more time out in nature and have a Yurt set up in our forest where I host regular relaxation classes.

I would like to call myself a perception shifter because this is what helped me on my path of (ongoing) healing - I’d love to offer perception shifting thoughts/views in order to make people feel more real and their life easier and their relationships deeper.

I’m also passionate about bringing awareness to locally grown food to people’s table as I’m certain that feeling empowered and real starts with what you nurture your body with and what you absorb with all senses from your environment on a daily basis .

I live in the Rocky Mountains
Raise a couple chickens Free range for eggs and grow a beautiful vegetable garden with my grandmother, fiance and mother in summer.

Podcasting became my passion because I can reach people all over the world- Give hope, make people feel less lonely and self-empowered. Furthermore the interviews with people from around the world expand my horizon and help me heal my soul.
Bonnie my pitbull is always at my side.
connect with me and share your story on my show .

Love ❤️
