Transcript
Hello, and welcome to the Borealis experience.
Unknown:And I'm very happy to be spending some time with you
Unknown:today. I hope you're doing well.
Unknown:I hope life is light and easy flowing.
Unknown:If it is difficult, complicated, harsh.
Unknown:Really bad.
Unknown:At the moment,
Unknown:I hope I can give you energy. I hope I can give you hope. I hope
Unknown:I can give you tools to help you get to know yourself better to
Unknown:recharge your batteries.
Unknown:The better you know yourself, the better decisions you're
Unknown:going to make. The stronger, healthier boundaries, you're
Unknown:going to set.
Unknown:It's really important. It's something that I'm still
Unknown:learning, still learning to say? No. When in the past I said yes.
Unknown:To please or appease somebody.
Unknown:Sometimes a no is way healthier for you than a yes, was
Unknown:compromises. There's no doubt about it right?
Unknown:Today's episode, I will label say yes to yourself, and no to
Unknown:compromises.
Unknown:And season one and two and even three, I think I talk a lot
Unknown:about
Unknown:self care and how you can better take care of yourself and the
Unknown:importance of alone time.
Unknown:And in season five here, I want to
Unknown:emphasize the importance of alone time. One more time.
Unknown:It is so critical that you spend time with yourself.
Unknown:And that you know that spending alone time spending time with
Unknown:yourself doesn't mean
Unknown:to watch TV on your own or to go to the bar and drink by yourself
Unknown:or to binge eat.
Unknown:alone time. For me what I'm learning right now with a coach
Unknown:can be a time where you process
Unknown:where you process feelings and thoughts where you brainstorm.
Unknown:alone time can also mean being present fully present with what
Unknown:is.
Unknown:And if you can imagine going for walks I really encourage you to
Unknown:going for walks, little walks every day, just a couple
Unknown:minutes, just 15 minutes to start out. And to be fully
Unknown:present with your environment.
Unknown:You can set an intention for every walk. But presence is
Unknown:something really magical. You don't have your phone yet don't
Unknown:have a podcast running in the background, not even mine. It is
Unknown:just you walking around the neighborhood. Of course not
Unknown:putting yourself in any danger
Unknown:and being present with what happens around you.
Unknown:All too often, we rushed from A to B and tried to do 20,000
Unknown:things at a time
Unknown:where we could actually relax and reconnect to ourselves.
Unknown:I find it also helps with feeling less lonely feeling more
Unknown:connected.
Unknown:The more connected you feel to yourself.
Unknown:The more connected you feel to your surroundings. And that's
Unknown:really fascinating to observe. The better you feel with
Unknown:yourself.
Unknown:The better you will feel with people the more accepting you
Unknown:are with yourself. The more accepting you're going to be
Unknown:with other people, you know, people who are very judgmental
Unknown:perfectionist.
Unknown:They usually very very harsh on themselves.
Unknown:And on others, they accept the same from others that they
Unknown:accept from themselves.
Unknown:And the standard is usually way too high, and not easy to
Unknown:maintain for others outside of your bubble.
Unknown:So these walks that I encourage you to do several times a week
Unknown:can really help you to reconnect to yourself to reconnect with
Unknown:your environment, and to be there in the moment. And if you
Unknown:have your mind, your monkey mind, your beautiful little
Unknown:monkey mind that always wants to be busy creeping up on you, and
Unknown:coming up with to do lists, brainstorming, processing of
Unknown:arguments of conversations that might happen in the future
Unknown:of conversations that happened in the past,
Unknown:then you can just learn to turn the volume down, and to let it
Unknown:sit in a corner for a little bit. And then tune back into
Unknown:your breath, and to what is happening around you. Maybe
Unknown:there's people walking around,
Unknown:very busily, maybe there's children playing, maybe there's
Unknown:cars driving by or bicycles. Maybe you walk in the park or in
Unknown:the forest, and you notice trees and plants and animals.
Unknown:And it's funny because while I describe this silent walk or
Unknown:quality, alone time walk to you.
Unknown:I feel very relaxed already.
Unknown:Maybe you observed somebody
Unknown:in the past who in a waiting line was not looking down on his
Unknown:or her phone, who was just looking at you and smiling and
Unknown:saying hello, who was engaging in a conversation with the
Unknown:cashier, or with the person sitting next to him or her on
Unknown:the bus.
Unknown:I feel
Unknown:we use our phones, for very important things. Don't get me
Unknown:wrong. I love my phone. I love the internet. I love Facebook,
Unknown:everything about it.
Unknown:But there comes a point where we forget to interact and connect
Unknown:with our direct environment.
Unknown:And sometimes people start nagging and being upset with you
Unknown:because they don't know how else to make you stop and connect
Unknown:with them. Sometimes, an accident happens or you trip or
Unknown:you hurt yourself because you are not fully present. Sometimes
Unknown:we lose things like wallets or keys or lipsticks or bubble
Unknown:gums. Because when we put them away the last time we were not
Unknown:aware we were not mindful, we were not consciously putting it
Unknown:away. We just put it somewhere. But it had something else in
Unknown:mind.
Unknown:So when you go on these walks, without your phone without any
Unknown:music,
Unknown:and really connect to your environment.
Unknown:It might make you feel very grounded and very good about
Unknown:yourself.
Unknown:It might also bring up stuff that you have been running away
Unknown:from in a long time and this is why you avoid spending a long
Unknown:time
Unknown:without distractions.
Unknown:But this is very important.
Unknown:It is very important to notice and to observe and to feel and
Unknown:then to go deeper and to resolve at a later stage.
Unknown:But to see
Unknown:in observing your thoughts and your feelings, how you really
Unknown:are doing
Unknown:without compensation without distraction.
Unknown:It is critical.
Unknown:All too often we run around and
Unknown:you know we're not feeling 100% Awesome. We call a friend we
Unknown:call our parents and we unload our stuff and they can help us
Unknown:to some degree.
Unknown:And then we go back to our place and same old stuff again.
Unknown:Sometimes they might not even be available and then you blame it
Unknown:on them why you're not feeling better.
Unknown:This little practice here that I'm sharing you with you today
Unknown:is going to help you to be more self fulfilling
Unknown:isn't sufficient sorry.
Unknown:Of course you call a friend when you're not feeling good, of
Unknown:course you call your parents or guardians or whoever you'd like
Unknown:to talk to when you're not feeling well.
Unknown:But I want to give you these tools for you
Unknown:to know that you can also help yourself.
Unknown:You can only be there for you so much.
Unknown:When you have a very distracted life and compensation,
Unknown:allow some time to yourself, allow some time of no
Unknown:distraction.
Unknown:And you will see that you will maybe even sleep better, make
Unknown:better food choices.
Unknown:Be more content in life, in general, more confident.
Unknown:It is really important to take time to yourself, in between
Unknown:meeting friends and between work and meeting up with your
Unknown:partner.
Unknown:And your partner will feel inspired. And maybe also start a
Unknown:self
Unknown:empowering journey. And it can improve relationships so
Unknown:drastically. The better you feel about yourself, the more content
Unknown:you're with yourself, the
Unknown:better partner you can be.
Unknown:Thank you so much for listening.
Unknown:If you have subscribed, thank you so much from the bottom of
Unknown:my heart. I appreciate you so much for being here. And
Unknown:if you have any requests for episode, never hesitate to
Unknown:contact me on Facebook and just shoot me a message hey, can you
Unknown:talk about this? I will make sure to talk about it and I
Unknown:don't even have to mention your name. I can if you want to but I
Unknown:don't have to.
Unknown:And if you want to send me a tap on the shoulder who Re
Unknown:and applaud then please leave me a review on Apple podcast. It's
Unknown:the strongest currency amongst podcasters
Unknown:say thank you so much for listening. I will be out there
Unknown:very soon again. Bye
