Hello, hello, and welcome to the Borealis

Unknown:

experience. I'm your host Aurora, life coach, mental

Unknown:

health advocate. And I'm very happy to be spending some time

Unknown:

with you today. I hope you're doing well. And if you're not

Unknown:

doing well, I hope I can bring you lightness and love

Unknown:

empowerment, whatever needs

Unknown:

to Yeah, make you feel

Unknown:

a little more. Okay. I know sometimes we feel really dark

Unknown:

and there's no cheering up, no empowerment, no light and

Unknown:

goodness that we want to allow anywhere close to us, we just

Unknown:

need someone to sit with us in silence. And to kind of Yeah,

Unknown:

weigh that out later.

Unknown:

It is a really weird notion in our society that it is not okay

Unknown:

to be depressed, it is not okay to be sad at times, unless it is

Unknown:

really catastrophic news. And I think that is wrong. We need to

Unknown:

be able to feel all our emotions. And to sit with them

Unknown:

is very painful at times. But it is necessary to sometimes

Unknown:

process it and getting through it instead of distracting

Unknown:

yourself right away.

Unknown:

Today, I want to talk about something a little different

Unknown:

though, I want to talk about your resistance, your little

Unknown:

anxieties and fears that you might have when it comes to

Unknown:

certain hobbies activities.

Unknown:

What I've experienced is that I grew up with a French mom and

Unknown:

grandmother and they're both excellent chefs and bakers.

Unknown:

And I was always very intimate, intimidated by their

Unknown:

by their work. They're nearly approached it as a job and as

Unknown:

very perfectionistic closely to say

Unknown:

they learned how to

Unknown:

speak the language of love through gifting amazing food to

Unknown:

people and baking excellent cakes. And

Unknown:

yeah, I started out very young. When when I realized, Oh, I'm

Unknown:

not good at cooking. I don't like baking.

Unknown:

I like it. But yeah, I don't do it too often, because I'm not

Unknown:

good at it anyways.

Unknown:

And it is these beliefs, these conclusions that we sometimes

Unknown:

make about ourselves way back in our life, in our youth in our

Unknown:

childhood. And we still cling to them today. And we're not even

Unknown:

realizing it, we have resistance to

Unknown:

I don't know, it is so different that I can't even start to to

Unknown:

count them all down. But it might be very simple, small

Unknown:

things that you have huge resistance to that another

Unknown:

person might never be able to understand and and for you to

Unknown:

explain it would be hard to because it is so ingrained in

Unknown:

your identity.

Unknown:

But today I want to talk about how important it is to sometimes

Unknown:

revisit these resistances and those things that we Yeah, want

Unknown:

to avoid at all cost and push out of our lives because

Unknown:

sometimes that's where the key lies. And what do I mean by that

Unknown:

sometimes when we face those resistances when we are brave

Unknown:

enough to revisit the pain, the little bit of discomfort and

Unknown:

anxiety. We have a breakthrough experience and that can

Unknown:

translate or transmit into other areas in life too. We begin to

Unknown:

heal and an area that we couple of weeks back thought we could

Unknown:

never heal in ourselves and now we gain new confidence and it is

Unknown:

an incredible breakthrough that you can experience when you

Unknown:

Choose to face some of your resistances. Now going back to

Unknown:

my little story here, I decided to bake today.

Unknown:

And for me baking is a thing that I was Yeah, always avoiding

Unknown:

always not wanting to do, because I thought I was not good

Unknown:

enough. And I realize how silly it is only because I have

Unknown:

grown up with two French ladies that are excellent chefs, I

Unknown:

shouldn't belittle myself so much, I should just try it out

Unknown:

again. And maybe I'm a pretty kick ass chef as well, on my own

Unknown:

terms. So I did some baking, and I just decided to have fun with

Unknown:

myself and enjoy myself. And it was really

Unknown:

a great experience. I burned my cake a little bit at the end.

Unknown:

But who cares, it still smells delicious. And I'm waiting for

Unknown:

my boyfriend to come home to try it. And I know he will give me

Unknown:

honest feedback.

Unknown:

The biggest kick I had for lunch now is to cut a piece for my

Unknown:

grandma and to carry it over to her house.

Unknown:

And her reaction was like, Well, that's nice, but I'm not going

Unknown:

to try it now I have to eat lunch first. And then I'll give

Unknown:

you my feedback. And there was my anxiety again, now as I Gosh,

Unknown:

shit, she's gonna judge me, she's gonna say something that

Unknown:

is going to trigger me. And then for the next 10 years, I'm not

Unknown:

gonna bake again. But that was just my little devil insecure

Unknown:

part talking. And I know that today I'm more resilient to her

Unknown:

harsh feedback. And what I've noticed, as well as sometimes,

Unknown:

she doesn't give me honest feedback, because she's a little

Unknown:

jealous. She's 89 years old, and I'm trying new things. And she's

Unknown:

trying her old things and succeeding, like extremely good.

Unknown:

But now when I come and try something new, even though she

Unknown:

likes it, she would not admit that I did an excellent job. And

Unknown:

this is something that I have to cut through, I have to cut

Unknown:

through wanting that approval from my grandmother, I have to

Unknown:

cut through my insecurities and keep trying, getting better, and

Unknown:

not putting myself in that victim position anymore.

Unknown:

So I want to challenge you this week, I wanna make you think

Unknown:

about this a little bit. Think about what are the things that

Unknown:

you are holding back from where do you belittle yourself? Where

Unknown:

do you look down on yourself? What is it that you're trying to

Unknown:

avoid at all cost? What hobby is it that you? Yeah, once were so

Unknown:

passionately engaged, and then something happened and you

Unknown:

dropped it and you never want anything to do with it anymore?

Unknown:

How can you make peace with it? I think and, and facing it

Unknown:

again. And sometimes it doesn't mean that you have to go back to

Unknown:

that sport that you once did, but to make peace with it. And

Unknown:

to know that, yeah, you are very capable. You had your shitty

Unknown:

experiences. You made the conclusions about yourself, but

Unknown:

revisit these conclusions and know that if she were shitty at

Unknown:

math, when you were six years old, you might be a brilliant

Unknown:

mathematician.

Unknown:

I don't know how to say that in English, but I know you know

Unknown:

what I mean. Nowadays, you are in a different environment, you

Unknown:

have a different approach to learning. Your body is

Unknown:

different, your brain is different. Give yourself a

Unknown:

chance for God's sakes. When it comes to things that you think

Unknown:

you're not going to be good at. Try them anyways. And the girls

Unknown:

feeling that

Unknown:

just wanting to fail wanting to receive rejection or wanting to

Unknown:

you know, consciously make a mistake sometimes that is so

Unknown:

important and you can learn so much about yourself and gain new

Unknown:

confidence.

Unknown:

All right, that was it for today. Short and sweet. I would

Unknown:

love to hear your feedback. I would love to hear your thoughts

Unknown:

and maybe you even want to share with me what it is for you. That

Unknown:

you are resisting so much. Don't be shy because here I am.

Unknown:

I'm sharing my little story about baking and you might think

Unknown:

it's super silly but yeah, that's just my little thing that

Unknown:

I'm trying to conquer.

Unknown:

All right, take really good care of yourself. If you are in need

Unknown:

of a coaching session, you know who to reach out to a few one.

Unknown:

Request an episode topic, never hold back. And, yeah, that is it

Unknown:

for today and sending my love out to you. And I'll be out

Unknown:

there very soon.

Also..
A little bit about me
Trust me I’m far from feeling, behaving or being perfect.
Perfection is nothing I’m thriving for yet I can say I’m proud of my path/ life journey.

I'm no longer enslaved to my #depression
I'm no longer a #rapevictim
I no longer struggle with #eatingdisorder
I no longer feel the need to hold on to fear, anger and resentment towards men.
I #create podcast episodes and videos several times a week to support and inspire others even on days I feel poorly.
I push through hard times while being gentle on myself.

I'm able to be consistent without feeling drained for the first time in my life because I found something that brings me joy and excitement and stills my hunger to support people out there.

I try my best to understand people’s harsh opinions that are not in alignment with my values .

I learn every day on how to express myself better in a foreign language

I no longer use being bullied back then in school as an excuse in life to not show up for myself or others.

I ask questions, really annoying questions, in order to experience my environment and to find out what is best for me and my people around me ..
Yes, I still feel triggered in many situations.
Yes, I feel depressed and discouraged at times but I embrace it and don’t let it define me anymore.

Doing all this allows me to meet incredible people along the way.

People who:
- inspire me
- encourage me and ignite my deep compassion

I'm grateful for all of you and I’m so happy that I can learn from you and grow together with you .

We are all together in this beautiful mess called life
Thank you for being here

Lots of love and respect

About your host

Profile picture for Aurora Eggert

Aurora Eggert

Hello there,
Born and raised in Germany under the influence of French culture I got a taste of how people perceive life and situations totally differently depending on how and where they grew up. this ignited my deepest curiosity for human behaviour at a very young age.

Being always more of an introvert and observant child I absorbed a lot of stuff that to this day weigh heavy on my soul but on the bright side I can say that these experiences make me relate so much deeper and better to the people around me.

I understand pain. I know suffering. I know how it feels to feel misunderstood.
People say I have a warm, soothing vibe and I enjoyed many years working as a physiotherapist in Germany.

Today I’m more venturing towards bringing healing through podcasting/ Life coaching and yoga. I also encourage people to spend more time out in nature and have a Yurt set up in our forest where I host regular relaxation classes.

I would like to call myself a perception shifter because this is what helped me on my path of (ongoing) healing - I’d love to offer perception shifting thoughts/views in order to make people feel more real and their life easier and their relationships deeper.

I’m also passionate about bringing awareness to locally grown food to people’s table as I’m certain that feeling empowered and real starts with what you nurture your body with and what you absorb with all senses from your environment on a daily basis .

I live in the Rocky Mountains
Raise a couple chickens Free range for eggs and grow a beautiful vegetable garden with my grandmother, fiance and mother in summer.

Podcasting became my passion because I can reach people all over the world- Give hope, make people feel less lonely and self-empowered. Furthermore the interviews with people from around the world expand my horizon and help me heal my soul.
Bonnie my pitbull is always at my side.
connect with me and share your story on my show .

Love ❤️
A.
