Ep. 26 The importance of cheering for yourself [embodied self]

Published on: 30th June, 2021

Hey there,

Today I will discuss the weird things I observed and done myself around little successes.

Why is it that we think we need to dim our light?

In order to fit in or to not upset other people ?

Why is it so much easier to share shitty unpleasant things in our life than the goodness that lights us up?

with love and respect

Hello, hello and welcome to the Borealis

Unknown:

experience. I'm your host Aurora.

Unknown:

And I'm very happy to be spending some time with you

Unknown:

today. Today I want to talk about the importance of

Unknown:

celebrating yourself. Many of you know that it was my birthday

Unknown:

yesterday, it was a lovely day,

Unknown:

I watched a soccer game with my family, Germany against England,

Unknown:

Germany lost to zero. And then afterwards, we went to the lake

Unknown:

and enjoyed some cooling water in this hot temperature. And I

Unknown:

received so many messages, maybe over 200 messages to praise me

Unknown:

to congratulate me and make me feel loved. And what I noticed

Unknown:

was that, at first, I had a hard time to receive it. I had a hard

Unknown:

time to receive thank you for my work.

Unknown:

Thank you for being there and a precious light for others. There

Unknown:

was a part of me that totally wanted to reject

Unknown:

it and not read it. And this is what I want to talk about today.

Unknown:

with you. I feel in our society here and northern American

Unknown:

Europe, even it is a bad thing. To be proud of yourself, it is a

Unknown:

bad thing to celebrate yourself. You're right away, seen as a

Unknown:

narcissistic, selfish, vain person. And not to say that it

Unknown:

doesn't exist out there. But I feel we're doing quite the

Unknown:

opposite. We feel that most of the time, we can only relate to

Unknown:

other people and bringing ourselves down, making ourselves

Unknown:

small. on a physical level, I know totally exists in

Unknown:

conversation with women, maybe with guys too. But we're always

Unknown:

trying to make the other person feel good in expressing how

Unknown:

unhappy and sarcastic

Unknown:

we feel with our body. And when it comes to a job, or romantic

Unknown:

relationships or friendships, it is also usually negative things

Unknown:

that we share. Because maybe we feel if we express that we're so

Unknown:

happy and content. In reality, that people will be jealous,

Unknown:

people will feel small

Unknown:

and inferior. And we'd rather share the shitty parts of our

Unknown:

relationships and our jobs. Then the good parts. And don't get me

Unknown:

wrong. Like sometimes it's fun to just purge out vent and say

Unknown:

everything that is negative. But I want to emphasize that it is

Unknown:

so important to focus on the things that are good. And if you

Unknown:

share those good things with people, yes, they will be the

Unknown:

people who are jealous and insecure, not confident with

Unknown:

what they have. But you will also inspire them to step up

Unknown:

their game. And this is so important. Just as important as

Unknown:

being brutally honest with your loved ones and your friends

Unknown:

because you help them grow.

Unknown:

It is very important. To share your authentic journey, and to

Unknown:

not boil it down, to not dim your light. Because you do that,

Unknown:

to your own detriment. You have to shine bright, you have to be

Unknown:

proud of yourself and feel good with everything you have

Unknown:

accomplished. If you constantly feel that you cannot share your

Unknown:

successes, you cannot share your happiness, you have to radically

Unknown:

change your surroundings, especially the people you are

Unknown:

interacting with. You cannot run around and always express the

Unknown:

negatives in order to make another person feel more

Unknown:

comfortable. You have to express yourself authentically, of

Unknown:

course, not fake playing of goodness, but authentically. And

Unknown:

then others might feel inferior for a little bit might feel

Unknown:

challenged for a little bit. But that is okay. You can be an

Unknown:

inspiration to them. You don't need to be an asshole. And

Unknown:

purpose fully make them feel shitty. You help them to get

Unknown:

unstuck you help them to look into the mirror, you help them

Unknown:

to become their best version. And most importantly, you allow

Unknown:

yourself to be authentic. Because it is not being

Unknown:

authentic, to hide good things from others and to Yeah, hide

Unknown:

the fact that you might have made really good money that you

Unknown:

might have failed, made, met your soulmate. And you're so

Unknown:

incredibly rich and happy with your life. So in German, we say

Unknown:

throw some confetti at yourself. Be happy with where you're at,

Unknown:

appreciate yourself fully. and express this, show this to other

Unknown:

people too. Chances are you will live a more authentic life when

Unknown:

you do that. Because the people that are not good for you are

Unknown:

going to fall off and swim and bitterness and self pity. And

Unknown:

the people that are meant to be in your life, you're

Unknown:

automatically gonna magnetize into your life and from your

Unknown:

heart, you will feel so real and so authentic. That words can

Unknown:

really explain. Thank you so much for listening to this

Unknown:

little episode here. I hope you understand what I mean. And I

Unknown:

hope you receive the message. Well, if he liked this podcast

Unknown:

here, make sure to subscribe Make sure to leave me a review

Unknown:

on Apple podcast. It is the strongest currency between

Unknown:

podcasters out there and the competition is big. I will be

Unknown:

out there very soon again. In the meantime, think and ponder a

Unknown:

little bit about all the good things that you have and learn

Unknown:

to express it learn to appreciate it and embrace it.

Unknown:

expressing the goodness is appreciating the goodness which

Unknown:

will attract more goodness. Thank you for listening. Bye bye

Also..
A little bit about me
Trust me I’m far from feeling, behaving or being perfect.
Perfection is nothing I’m thriving for yet I can say I’m proud of my path/ life journey.

I'm no longer enslaved to my #depression
I'm no longer a #rapevictim
I no longer struggle with #eatingdisorder
I no longer feel the need to hold on to fear, anger and resentment towards men.
I #create podcast episodes and videos several times a week to support and inspire others even on days I feel poorly.
I push through hard times while being gentle on myself.

I'm able to be consistent without feeling drained for the first time in my life because I found something that brings me joy and excitement and stills my hunger to support people out there.

I try my best to understand people’s harsh opinions that are not in alignment with my values .

I learn every day on how to express myself better in a foreign language

I no longer use being bullied back then in school as an excuse in life to not show up for myself or others.

I ask questions, really annoying questions, in order to experience my environment and to find out what is best for me and my people around me ..
Yes, I still feel triggered in many situations.
Yes, I feel depressed and discouraged at times but I embrace it and don’t let it define me anymore.

Doing all this allows me to meet incredible people along the way.

People who:
- inspire me
- encourage me and ignite my deep compassion

I'm grateful for all of you and I’m so happy that I can learn from you and grow together with you .

We are all together in this beautiful mess called life
Thank you for being here

Lots of love and respect

Profile picture for Aurora Eggert

Aurora Eggert

Hello there,
Born and raised in Germany under the influence of French culture I got a taste of how people perceive life and situations totally differently depending on how and where they grew up. this ignited my deepest curiosity for human behaviour at a very young age.

Being always more of an introvert and observant child I absorbed a lot of stuff that to this day weigh heavy on my soul but on the bright side I can say that these experiences make me relate so much deeper and better to the people around me.

I understand pain. I know suffering. I know how it feels to feel misunderstood.
People say I have a warm, soothing vibe and I enjoyed many years working as a physiotherapist in Germany.

Today I’m more venturing towards bringing healing through podcasting/ Life coaching and yoga. I also encourage people to spend more time out in nature and have a Yurt set up in our forest where I host regular relaxation classes.

I would like to call myself a perception shifter because this is what helped me on my path of (ongoing) healing - I’d love to offer perception shifting thoughts/views in order to make people feel more real and their life easier and their relationships deeper.

I’m also passionate about bringing awareness to locally grown food to people’s table as I’m certain that feeling empowered and real starts with what you nurture your body with and what you absorb with all senses from your environment on a daily basis .

I live in the Rocky Mountains
Raise a couple chickens Free range for eggs and grow a beautiful vegetable garden with my grandmother, fiance and mother in summer.

Podcasting became my passion because I can reach people all over the world- Give hope, make people feel less lonely and self-empowered. Furthermore the interviews with people from around the world expand my horizon and help me heal my soul.
Bonnie my pitbull is always at my side.
connect with me and share your story on my show .

Love ❤️
A.
