Ep. 17 Sharing your dreams and being met with harsh criticism and negativity [society, relationships] - The Borealis Experience

Episode 17

Ep. 17 Sharing your dreams and being met with harsh criticism and negativity [society, relationships]

Published on: 6th September, 2021

Do you remember sharing a dream or goal as a kid and people laughing at you /criticizing you for it ?

Did you ever dream about something and were on your way to reach that dream and then suddenly you needed to quit ?

Did you ever attempt to stop engaging in your addiction and you are successful for a little while but all of a sudden the addiction takes over again ?

Trust me .. what I’m learning right now is that:

We don’t need other people to lose encouragement and to believe that we are a failure

We don’t need someone from the outside telling us that we will never overcome our addiction, that we will never find a suitable partner

WHY ??

Because our own beliefs our own thinking patterns are doing this destructive work for us/ inside of us/ most of the time unknowingly/ just automatically

What will you/what are we ALL be faced with when you decide to change, to quit, to get you pretty lil ass of the couch ?!?!!?

Have a listen dear friend

:)

With love

A.

Hello, and welcome to the Borealis experience. I'm

Unknown:

your host Aurora. And I'm very happy to be spending some time

Unknown:

with you today. I want to create a space where you can just

Unknown:

deeply exhale, and inhale fresh air, where you can recharge your

Unknown:

batteries, where you can feel safe, where you can be

Unknown:

authentic, where you can be true to yourself. Today, I want to

Unknown:

talk about crippling self doubt, and the ongoing negative chatter

Unknown:

in our minds. Have you ever tried something new? Have you

Unknown:

ever had a goal, a dream. And just like back then, when you

Unknown:

had a dream, and you were expressing this to your parents,

Unknown:

maybe or some Guardian, and your dreams were met with harsh

Unknown:

judgment, criticism, questioning you questioning your dream, when

Unknown:

you just feel discouraged and even regret, expressing your

Unknown:

dreams and your goals. But have you ever noticed that it happens

Unknown:

inside of us and some of us that we dream something up that we

Unknown:

have a goal that we maybe want to stop and engage in an

Unknown:

addiction, or change something in our lives? And then we start

Unknown:

watching videos, we start talking to people maybe who've

Unknown:

done in the past and conquered and achieved their goals? You

Unknown:

kind of uh, yeah. happy, excited human now on this new path. But

Unknown:

then a couple of days later, a couple moments later, all of a

Unknown:

sudden, all these questions come up. Why me? Why do I think I

Unknown:

deserve that change? Why do I think Can I have this in my

Unknown:

life? What am I thinking to believe that this person would

Unknown:

ever talk to me? You see, and those thoughts are so incredibly

Unknown:

destructive. And we don't even know it. Because most of the

Unknown:

time we believe them. Just like back then with the adults, we

Unknown:

believe them? And we think yeah, my dream was stupid and silly.

Unknown:

And what am I even thinking? Let's go back, sorry. And to the

Unknown:

little box into who I think I have to be and who I think I am.

Unknown:

And let's not explore who we could be what we could achieve,

Unknown:

because this is challenging our old belief system. And the

Unknown:

reason I am talking about this today is because I was on a call

Unknown:

with my coach. And we are a group of very powerful ladies.

Unknown:

They're growing together, meeting once a week, doing our

Unknown:

homework during the week. And today, we all felt like our self

Unknown:

doubt or self criticism was taking the better of us except

Unknown:

one, one lady, one lady was above it all and was just flying

Unknown:

and very inspiring. But the rest of us we were frustrated. We

Unknown:

kept thinking about the tools that we are given we have

Unknown:

provided and to put them at work. One of the ladies

Unknown:

expressed that to live up to her own power now is intimidating

Unknown:

for her because she would have to leave old belief systems she

Unknown:

would have to take responsibility. She would be

Unknown:

very very terrified of failing. She doesn't want to fail. So she

Unknown:

doesn't want to get out of a box from the start. From the get go.

Unknown:

This is All super logic, when you observe all this, from your

Unknown:

mind's perspective, your mind that is being threatened right

Unknown:

now, you threatened your mind to think differently, to act

Unknown:

differently to live your life differently. And of course, this

Unknown:

is going to be met with resistance. Of course, this is

Unknown:

not going to be a piece of cheesecake. Like I love to say,

Unknown:

there is some work to put into it, but you have that energy,

Unknown:

you have that willingness. Don't say it is hard work, and it will

Unknown:

take you so much effort, because then at the same time, you make

Unknown:

it sound impossible again. And what I've learned today, from my

Unknown:

coach and from the other ladies is that we have to trick that

Unknown:

mind that old mind of ours that we want to overcome that we want

Unknown:

to put into a corner and turn up the volume of what we want. You

Unknown:

see, when we have doubts, when we criticize ourselves, we only

Unknown:

see the negative we only see the worse outcome. We only see the

Unknown:

dark and the what ifs. And we have to slowly stretch away into

Unknown:

the Yeah, but what if it is possible? Yeah. And what if I

Unknown:

reached my goal? Yeah. And what if I overcome my addiction?

Unknown:

Yeah. What if I learn to set boundaries and only surround

Unknown:

myself with people that do me good. Observe your mind. Over

Unknown:

the next couple of hours best would be the next couple of

Unknown:

days, on how you think about yourself, when you approach a

Unknown:

task. When you approach a group setting, when you approach, a

Unknown:

situation that is maybe new to you see what thinking pattern is

Unknown:

cascading down the drain. What is automatically happening in

Unknown:

your brain, when you start something new, you know,

Unknown:

sometimes it goes so far, that when you start a new sport or a

Unknown:

new activity, that you are being reminded of grade three, when

Unknown:

that one guy in your class threw the ball at you and you didn't

Unknown:

catch it fast enough, and your team lost and you were the loser

Unknown:

of the class. Those little experiences from way back can

Unknown:

still influence you on how you approach new activities today,

Unknown:

it is incredible. It is so awesome. Because that system is

Unknown:

trying to protect you from more failure from more pain. But what

Unknown:

is it doing also, it is preventing you to grow, to have

Unknown:

awesome experiences. And to let go of that old belief of

Unknown:

yourself that you suck at exercising. We have to actively

Unknown:

notice what is going on in our mind and then start to counter

Unknown:

it and let go of what is holding us back. I talked to a friend

Unknown:

today and he said he felt very nostalgic. I know his story a

Unknown:

little bit and I can't imagine why he's feeling nostalgic. And

Unknown:

maybe he feels that he has lost something in the past that he

Unknown:

will never be able to recreate again in the future. But he has

Unknown:

to believe that it is possible he has to focus on what he

Unknown:

wants. I want brotherhood. I want a strong circle of men

Unknown:

around me that make me feel supported. He cannot keep

Unknown:

running around and say I have no friends. I feel so lonely. All

Unknown:

men are selfish. All men are aggressive. All men are ego

Unknown:

driven. Do You see the difference do you hear when I

Unknown:

say those two different, like when I speak out those two

Unknown:

different perspectives, how it even feels in your body. I want

Unknown:

a life where I choose my path, where I feel empowered, where I

Unknown:

reach my goals, where I connect deeply with people. Instead of

Unknown:

saying, I feel lonely, I don't have this in my life, I don't

Unknown:

have that in my life. And my bank account is empty as well.

Unknown:

Now, we have to train a monkey mind and it is, it is doable,

Unknown:

you can override those negative thinking patterns and re wire

Unknown:

your brain. It is training, it will take time. But you will do

Unknown:

it so well and so gracefully. And you will, in doing so

Unknown:

inspire people to do the same. We need more of those people out

Unknown:

there right now, because humanity is facing a huge

Unknown:

darkness right now. Fear driven media, fear driven, driven

Unknown:

social media, we're being bombarded with advertisements

Unknown:

that make us feel inadequate, Instagram, showing us that we're

Unknown:

not enough and others have at all easy and always better than

Unknown:

us. We have to be aware of what we consume, what we allow our

Unknown:

system to believe. And then we have to be very aware about our

Unknown:

self talk. This is what I'm learning right now. And this is

Unknown:

what I need you to know, as well, because we're all together

Unknown:

in this. And I know I share very valuable tools with you to grow

Unknown:

and to UNdeC yourself and to break free. At the same time, I

Unknown:

want you to know that it is perfectly normal, to be met with

Unknown:

your own anxiety, your own self doubt that it is trying to

Unknown:

convince you to hold back and to stay in the quicksand that you

Unknown:

found yourself here recently. And it is perfectly normal to

Unknown:

sometimes believe those thoughts. But what I'm here for

Unknown:

you to say today is that you are so much more than those negative

Unknown:

thoughts. You are so much more than your old beliefs. And trust

Unknown:

me, if you start using these new tools, the self care tools, the

Unknown:

self empowerment tools, the undid yourself tools, to set

Unknown:

boundaries with people and be radical with your precious

Unknown:

quality time with people you love. Then I lost my train of

Unknown:

thought. No, I think you know what I mean? And it is very

Unknown:

important to not believe those thoughts, you are not your

Unknown:

thoughts. You are the entity that is observing those

Unknown:

thoughts. And that can control. No, I want to believe that I'm

Unknown:

gonna have a big fat bank account one day, and I'm gonna

Unknown:

attract possibilities to make it happen. I believe and I know

Unknown:

that the partner that is meant for me will enter my life soon

Unknown:

and I will make space for them. I will be the loving, caring,

Unknown:

exciting person that I can be to attract that wonderful important

Unknown:

partner into my life. It is so possible and there is no magic

Unknown:

to it. It is just aligning your stars in aligning your thoughts.

Unknown:

Thank you so much for listening. This episode was very dear to

Unknown:

me. Very passionate about this topic, because this is what I'm

Unknown:

struggling with as well. And at the same time I'm learning to

Unknown:

overcome self doubt and stuff like that. I want you to have

Unknown:

access to those same tools and to grow with me if You haven't

Unknown:

Unknown:

if you want to leave me a tap on the shoulder, a Bravo and

Unknown:

Also..
A little bit about me
Trust me I’m far from feeling, behaving or being perfect.
Perfection is nothing I’m thriving for yet I can say I’m proud of my path/ life journey.

I'm no longer enslaved to my #depression
I'm no longer a #rapevictim
I no longer struggle with #eatingdisorder
I no longer feel the need to hold on to fear, anger and resentment towards men.
I #create podcast episodes and videos several times a week to support and inspire others even on days I feel poorly.
I push through hard times while being gentle on myself.

I'm able to be consistent without feeling drained for the first time in my life because I found something that brings me joy and excitement and stills my hunger to support people out there.

I try my best to understand people’s harsh opinions that are not in alignment with my values .

I learn every day on how to express myself better in a foreign language

I no longer use being bullied back then in school as an excuse in life to not show up for myself or others.

I ask questions, really annoying questions, in order to experience my environment and to find out what is best for me and my people around me ..
Yes, I still feel triggered in many situations.
Yes, I feel depressed and discouraged at times but I embrace it and don’t let it define me anymore.

Doing all this allows me to meet incredible people along the way.

People who:
- inspire me
- encourage me and ignite my deep compassion

I'm grateful for all of you and I’m so happy that I can learn from you and grow together with you .

We are all together in this beautiful mess called life
Thank you for being here

Aurora Eggert

Hello there,
Born and raised in Germany under the influence of French culture I got a taste of how people perceive life and situations totally differently depending on how and where they grew up. this ignited my deepest curiosity for human behaviour at a very young age.

Being always more of an introvert and observant child I absorbed a lot of stuff that to this day weigh heavy on my soul but on the bright side I can say that these experiences make me relate so much deeper and better to the people around me.

I understand pain. I know suffering. I know how it feels to feel misunderstood.
People say I have a warm, soothing vibe and I enjoyed many years working as a physiotherapist in Germany.

Today I’m more venturing towards bringing healing through podcasting/ Life coaching and yoga. I also encourage people to spend more time out in nature and have a Yurt set up in our forest where I host regular relaxation classes.

I would like to call myself a perception shifter because this is what helped me on my path of (ongoing) healing - I’d love to offer perception shifting thoughts/views in order to make people feel more real and their life easier and their relationships deeper.

I’m also passionate about bringing awareness to locally grown food to people’s table as I’m certain that feeling empowered and real starts with what you nurture your body with and what you absorb with all senses from your environment on a daily basis .

I live in the Rocky Mountains
Raise a couple chickens Free range for eggs and grow a beautiful vegetable garden with my grandmother, fiance and mother in summer.

Podcasting became my passion because I can reach people all over the world- Give hope, make people feel less lonely and self-empowered. Furthermore the interviews with people from around the world expand my horizon and help me heal my soul.
Bonnie my pitbull is always at my side.
connect with me and share your story on my show .

Love ❤️
A.
